SHOW TITLE
A Midsummer Night's Dream
YEAR
2002
PERFORMED
NW England, N Wales & Ireland
DESCRIPTION
"This is the silliest stuff that ere I heard"
This summer’s production put a sixties slant on Shakespeare’s tale of love, lust and comic confusion, bringing it to life with music from the era and a few recognisable characters. Mischievous fairies, fiery lovers and earnest amateur actors all converge in the heart of an Athenian wood one night, resulting in chaos which must first get worse before it gets better. Off the Ground’s infusion of hippie spirit, song and dance into this hilarious comedy made for a deeply silly night out!
“…sheer fun…a daft, crazy production…enough of the play on view for serious students but this is really an excuse for a good old Shakespearean knees-up.”

What to wear to open air theatre?
The best way to know what to wear to an open air theatre performance is to check on what the weather is doing, but always play it safe. If you can carry a coat in case things turn sour, then we’d always recommend doing so. Beyond that, wear anything you like to an open air theatre performance, though please ensure you wear something!
