description -

We are delighted to present the first ever Gig Panto, in collaboration with Future Yard!

The year is 2025, and Robin Hood and his Mersey Men are distant legends of musical folklore. Once upon a time, they tore up the stage at the legendary Hoodstock ’99 festival. Since then, however, the music world has become a miserable place. The evil Sheriff has created an AI songwriting supercomputer in order to monopolise the music industry, and banned ANY form of live music including Christmas choirs, football chants, ice cream vans and even the bells of Birkenhead Town Hall.

With the masses left in silent despair, the Sheriff decides to cash-in and announces a new mega-festival, featuring all the worst of his AI generated bands – No Direction, Charlie A.B.C, Just a Beaver, Sabrina Plasterer and David Guetta. Only Robin Hood can save live music from disappearing; but to do so, he’ll have to get the band back together and play the greatest set of all time…

Join Future Yard and Off The Ground Theatre this Christmas for festive hilarity and hijinks! This all-new Gig Panto for live music lovers will be an irreverent, alternative panto done gig-style in the Future Yard Live Room, complete with a full live band playing music by the likes of Talking Heads, The Zutons, CMAT, Fontaines D.C and Pulp, along with the best (and worst) Yuletide favourites!
